Microsoft Support for Windows Server 2008 ends on the 14th January 2020
What does this mean?
As of the 14th January 2020, Microsoft will stop releasing security patches, hotfixes or providing support for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Without any more security updates your critical infrastructure could be exposed to new or existing malware & viruses or become a target for data theft. This could affect your business reputaion as well as your industry compliance.
I’m still running Server 2008 – What can I do?
If you are still running Windows Server 2008 it’s time to replace it with Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019. You want to protect your data and still be able to run all applications, so it’s best to seek our advice on the most appropriate upgrade path for you.
Older server hardware may not be compatible with the current versions of Windows. You may need to buy a newer server to be able to run Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019. Alternatively, we can help you to plan migrating your infrastructure fully or partially to the cloud.
